Abstract

One of the main problems of the hydrogen isotopes separation by cryogenic distillation is holding a constant temperature of the condenser fitted in the distillation column. This can be achieved by an optimal design of the cryogenic cycles. The present study is focused on experimental investigation of heat transfer processes that take place in different types of heat exchangers operated at low temperature. For the next step we’ll have to design a cryogenic cycle for the cooling of the condenser who equipped a cryogenic distillation column for hydrogen isotopes.
