Abstract
Introducing the graphene-based materials closer to real applications, as well as finding a green, low-cost, environment-friendly and less toxic solvent for production of high-quality graphene are highly demanded. The eco-friendly process using microwave-assisted technology for obtaining catalytic materials has recently demonstrated obvious advantages as uniform, fast, energy efficient and scalable approach to synthesis noble metals supported on graphene oxide. This paper reports a facile, rapid, low cost and efficient method to prepare gold supported on reduced graphene oxide (Au/rGO). According to the obtained results, Au/rGO samples were produced at microwave power of 800 W, temperature 80°C for 30 minutes only. The accelerated stability test (AST) was performed using cyclic voltammetry measurements. The AST results demonstrated the electrochemical stability indicating the potential use of the prepared material as a future electrocatalyst in energy domain.
