Crack Propagation in the CANDU Reactor Pressure Tubes, Due to Hydrogen Absorbtion

Abstract

The present experimental study implies the measurement of the crack parameters on hydrided cold-worked Zr-2,5 wt% Nb CANDU pressure tube, during the subcritical crack steady.
Experimentally, the crack process was measured using a relatively inexpensive method, suitable to be applied also in a controlled environment, so called potential drop method (PD).
