Abstract

The paper deals with the experimental studies performed on a NEDSTACK 5 kW PEM Fuel Cell Stack  in order to evaluate the influence of the fuelling mode on the stack efficiency. An experimental facility dedicated to fuel cells (FC) and fuel cell stacks (FCS) testing was used. A  purge control algorithm was implemented to allow dead- end anode supply.

The FCS alone and the whole FCS based energy system efficiencies were determined in both flow-through and dead-end anode fuelling modes and the results are made known.
